I relocated in 2015 from Austria to the UK/London and started there my first job in the Games Industry. As you can imagine, this was a big adventure and I learned quite a lot. I created this website as I thought that this knowledge might be useful for someone else.

Finding a job in the games industry is not easy and can take quite some time, but when I got hired I suddenly only had one month to relocate. I booked a holiday apartment for two weeks and flew to the UK, dedicated to find a new home soon. I went to lots and lots of agencies and some of them were also able to arrange some viewings or immediately chauffeured me to to the properties. But the problem is that renting here is quite expensive and you have to earn 30 times the monthly rent in a year, otherwise the agencies will not allow you to rent this property (unless you pay the difference up front or have somebody who acts as guarantor for you (as far as I remember)). Finally I found my new home in a shared house (german: Wohngemeinschaft) which is quite common here.
